Dutch Partnership Schools

Three staff have visited our partnership schools in Holland. Much like Lees Hill, St Liduina School appears deceptively small from the outside. Play areas are situated at the rear of the school. Schools in Enschede are very much integrated within residential areas.

We noticed a difference in attitudes towards access of school buildings compared to England. Health and safety is important to our colleagues in Holland , obviously. We were very impressed with their safety pegs to prevent injuries to eyes. The hooks faced the wall so bags and coats were less likely to fall onto the floor too!

The children learn letters and sounds just like our children. The image here shows the phoneme work in for reception age children

We love the exciting use of space in this classroom.
